Guess who’s still alive, here’s a hint…yeah it’s me. New year, same me
On a joyful note, Happy New Year, hope you’re all doing great and celebrating the arrival of 2018 with as much effort as me on a Monday morning.
So, genius hour 2 is coming up and I used a different source for my information, sorry Google, the source was twitter.
I stuck to my first idea and took the dark path of space, the first people I followed were obviously @NASA and @NASA_Astronauts. I basically just typed in space and followed the first people that popped up (After viewing some of their post of course) like @Spaceweather, @Space__Newz, @HUBBLE_space, @Space X, @SpaceflightNow, @SPACEdotcom,@stuartgary, @Space and @NASAHubble. Most of their posts had interesting information about Space so I was sure that their info could help me with my project.
I asked them question about Mars (My topic), mostly about what Mars is like compared to Earth and why we wouldn’t survive on Mars. I tried to be polite and not too demanding with my questions and added that I was a student looking for info and not some random stranger asking equally random questions. As I said before, their information was very interesting and I think that they could give me the best answers (I’m so sorry Google). The answers I did get were very helpful and cleared up some confusion I had on the topic.
I’m going to be honest and say that I didn’t get very good results, out of my ten questions only one was answered (Thank you @HUBBLE_space) but who knows, maybe I’ll get an answer later. None of them followed me back (What did I expect?), @stuartgary did follow me back though so I’m happy about that ( I didn’t ask him any questions, but I really should have)
I sadly didn’t continue any conversations, mostly because I had nothing to ask from the top of my head.
I personally think that twitter is a good way to get direct information from a source and that it should be used in schools more often. It not only helps students find trustworthy information, but the relationship/friendship/partnership the students form with the person giving them information could help them later on.
That concludes my journey threw twitter, here’s some pizza
And here are the links to the people I followed if you want to check them out
